Yes, if Bethany can sustain the hit from evangelical donors (which I think they would have costed out before making the decision) you're probably right. And it will boil down to the bias of individual case workers, as is the case for other minorities. So LGBTQ people will need to be assertive and savvy, requesting assignment to case workers who don't have any religious objections, asking for transparency regarding the process of approval and keeping tabs on it along the way, maybe having legal counsel to advise them along the way. At least until the agency earns their trust. And of course they shouldn't have to work this hard at it. Maybe there is a need for "adoption duolas" who can walk with them through the process--people tuned into the details who can keep an outside eye on the process, be fully apprised of their clients rights. etc. Sigh.
