There's a massive amount of critical scholarship that has a different reading of Paul than you describe here--that he was a Torah-observant Jew, and that the traditional reading of Romans 1 and 1 Cor. 6;9 are not aimed at "homosexuality" per se (a category unknown in the ancient world) but to other forms of behavior that don't chararcterize the gay people we may know and love or be. This reading that I've describes comports with your stamen that "the Hebrew scriptures (Tanakh) were not originally like this!) Once we read Paul as a Torah observant Jew, with an ancient jewish way of reading his sacred texts , far different than the dominant gentile., anti-Jewish reading of much of Christianity for centuries, other, and I think, more faithful readings of Romans 1 and 1 Cor. 6:9 open up.
