Thanks. The key word there is “toxic” — and for LGBTQ people the culture is demonstrably toxic (increases frequency of all sort of mental health issues, for example.) Seems like a time when “love your neighbor as yourself” applies in a very concrete way. Love yourself, as in don’t subject yourself to unnecessary harm; and love your neighbor by not letting them continue to exert the harm (done in ignorance or not.)
