Problem is, there are churches in denominations that are traditional (like UMC) that do just that: put out the rainbow flag. But they don’t deliver on the rainbow. They don’t perform weddings for same-gender couples. The only way to know is check out churchclarity.org which does the homework. Also lots of churches advertise “open and affirming” or something like that and have no LGBTQ people in the church.
