Kimberly, As a denomination, U.C.C. is affirming, but at the local level, there are many congregations affiliated with U.C.C. that do not practice full inclusion. Virtually every historic Protestant denomination like U.C.C. (ELCA, PCUA, The Episcopal Church, etc.) has a network of evangelical or conservative churches that object to the national policy. As my U.C.C. pastor friends remind me. So people still need to check their local congregation first by asking the lead pastor directly: 1. Will you perform gay weddings; 2. Would the congregation accept and out-Gay (non-celibate) clergy?
