Elizabeth Griffin, unfortunately this is the new evangelical norm (especially among the non-denominational, contemporary worship sector.) It demonstrates that the pastors are ashamed of their position because they have so much more evidence now of how harmful it is. Our church has so many LGBTQ+ members who have had that horrible experience of faux welcome under false pretenses.
