Elizabeth Drescher thanks for your encouraging — you picked up on my favorite part of this little essay, prayer as entry into a non-locative realm. Given your interest in the rise of the nones, I wonder if you have been able to enjoy some of the writings of Phyllis Tickle, like The Great Emergence. She died in 2015 and was an astute observer (founding editor of the Religion Department of Publishers weekly, who made space for religious-spiritual books in the entire publishing industry. Phyllis inhabited non-locative place, and had keen eye on the American Religious Landscape especially emerging trends like the rise of the religiously unaffiliated.
