Eddie Chu Your experience is the norm unfortunately. If “friends who weren’t really friends after all” don’t do this distancing, they often offer their “personal support” which usually means never speaking up on your behalf or on behalf of your gay child. On paper friends. But over time new friends emerge and you’re the wiser for it.
