DeYoung opens with quite a tell, "What should Christians think"--such a common trope among the thought police of evangelicalism: just tell people how to think rather than present evidence presuming they can do their own thinking. Treats the listener/reader/audience as something less than full functioning adults. He also seems to assume the modern idea of the nuclear family, quite a departure from the ancient world of the Bible where the raising of children literally took a village (witness Mary and Joseph not even bothering to make sure their 12 year old was with them on the trip back to Nazareth.) Aunts and uncles (without or without children they have given birth to themselves) play a crucial role in childrearing, etc.
