Chris, Normally I would delete a response that advocates your views — they are so well represented elsewhere and I don’t want to subject people to them. But I did want to note that you are the first person who holds these views to agree that, “If they are not clearly stated…shame on them. That is hurtful and problematic.” I wish more who hold your views would also see that. Especially important for parents of minor children to know what a church teaches on this, because if their kids turn out to be gay or lesbian or gender non-binary (for example) they need to know that subjecting their children to the ideology that their sexuality or gender identity is perverse (and doing so in the name of God which intensifies the effect) will be harmful to their kids, will increase the risk of very serious mental health consequences.
