Ben, yes indeed! My wife is an Episcopal priest, so I also know that at the parish or congregational level LGBTQ is not resolved. There are still lots of parishes in virtually all the historic mainline denomination that haven’t done gay weddings, and where fully out LGBTQ people might not be fully accepted. U.C.C. for example is the first “open and affirming” protestant denomination, but they still have plenty of local congregations that wouldn’t welcome a gay pastor, for example or peform a wedding for a gay couple. So LGBTQ people would do well to look for churches in the denomoinations you mention, but also have to do their homework and speak to the congregational priest first asking a few questions: 1. Do you do gay weddings (and perhaps, have you already) 2. Are you as open about gay weddings as straight weddings? 3. Would your church welcome a clergy member who is openly LGBTQ?
