Al, yes, lots of change is happening. Views in the pews are both hardening and softening. Many evangelicals are too embarrased by their policies to do anything but obfuscate what they are, and MANY evangelical pastors have left or making plans to leave in order to follow their conscience, as well as evangelical church members finding other places that don't discriminate. Lots of pastors coming out as affirming once they retire. A great shaking going on. But, yes, for the indeterminate future, anything with ties to the evangelical world is in double-lock down mode ... and more oriented toward not alienating MAGA members who want them to get on the Trump train more explicitly, hold prayer vigils for him, et. than the progressives in their midst who suffer from leashed tongues, keep their thoughts to themselves or only kibbutz with the already convinced.
